St Botolph, Cambridge

New Replacement Heating

St Botolph dates mostly to the C14, however, the chancel was rebuilt by Bodley in the C19. The old electric pew heaters were really inadequate and hardy providing any warmth at all. Fortunately with the aid of a good consultant we sourced some very innovative radiant panel heaters with a much higher output. Concerns were raised over the decorative ceilings and the advice of an environmental specialist was sort. Once satisfied, and consents obtained, we replaced all of the existing panel heaters with our new ones and provided additional panels to the north and south aisles. Furthermore we even managed to install a heated floor mat in the chancel without any detriment to the fabric. Parishioners can now stop shivering.

Further projects are in progress to replace cement plaster to the aisles, and drainage has already been improved.
